In January, Flagship pledged to honor Dr. King’s legacy throughout the year by carrying out acts of service, whether big or small, formal or informal. Our commitment to making a difference is persistent, and our associates have wholeheartedly embraced this goal.

Our Volunteer Committee’s Mission
Flagship’s Volunteer Committee’s mission is to positively impact local communities and enrich the lives of our associates. Flagship collaborates with 28 approved organizations, enabling our associates to volunteer individually or in groups with people-centric organizations. Between January and August 2024, the company has completed 440+ hours of Volunteer Time Off (VTO) and has shared over 30 opportunities for associates to participate in.
Highlighting Individual Efforts
Charlotte Ford, Vendor Management Specialist, held a fundraiser for World Purple Day, a day to bring awareness to epilepsy. With combined efforts from her community and family, they raised $26,500 to support an epilepsy organization. Charlotte has dedicated the last four years to fundraisers, walks, and to helping to publish a bill known as the DOMinate Epilepsy Bill throughout schools in the Pennsylvania region. The bill aims to require additional training for school personnel to recognize and respond to seizures in children.
Making an Impact Together
During Flagship’s Associate Appreciation Day in April, associates had opportunities to give back together. Local blood bank trucks were on-site, and associate donations equated to saving 147 lives. Flagship associates also volunteered to assemble summer, hygiene, and essential care packages for Ronald McDonald House locations throughout TX, DE, and AZ.
Susanne Stead, AVP of Talent Development, reflected on her experience, saying, “It was a fun way to work together outside of work.”
Additionally, our DFW Quality Assurance team volunteered at the Dallas Habitat for Humanity ReStore this spring. The ReStore Manager expressed gratitude, stating, “Their help significantly reduced the store manager’s workload by almost a full day.”
Recently, during Flagship’s monthly Virtual Learn and Grow Work Session, associates tuned in and had the opportunity to learn more about Flagship’s Volunteer Time Off benefits. Flagship’s Volunteer Committee highlighted the importance of giving back, with Chris Keiser, General Counsel, sharing, “It puts you in touch with humanity that you don’t see very often.”
Francine Wolf, Credit Manager, added, “When you do these events, you set a spark, and it ignites other people.” Francine also emphasized the benefits of volunteering: “Showing your commitment promotes growth and self-esteem while connecting with others in the community and learning new skills.”
Looking Ahead
With four months left in the year, Flagship aims to encourage associates to utilize their volunteer hours with future opportunities with the Boys and Girls Club, the Ronald McDonald House, Safe Harbor, and additional organizations. We are committed to continuing our efforts and making a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
